Item Name: Daialeerolai's Hunting Bow

Item Type: Weapon

Description: A spartan design, this bow is obviously made for use by a large creature, for use against large creatures. Wrapped with reinforced hardwood from Feralas itself, this longbow is utterly enormous, almost as tall as its owner at a massive 2 meters in length. Simply holding the bow comfortably is a challenge, and with its high-tensile bowstring the amount of power required to fully draw it is immense. The range and speed of the projectiles it fires is terrifying, designed to be able to penetrate Clefthoof hide at great range, though this makes the weapon itself unweildy and very difficult to use.

Effect: In a round of combat where this bow is fired, the wielder suffers a -4 penalty to their armour value to represent the difficulty in dodging/blocking/absorbing incoming attacks. Turns attack type to ranged. Attack damage becomes 6-9.

Additional note: Only exceptionally strong characters can even fire this bow.

What is the strength requirement? level 9?

I think that has to be up to the player to figure out. Using levels isn't necessarily appropriate since a high level spaghetti-armed Mage could use it under those rules. It requires some roleplayer integrity of course, but I think as a general rule one should look at Daia and think 'is my character physically as strong as that?' and vary their emotes accordingly.

A suggestion would be that only someone of Min Attack stat: 6 could use this.

That would be problematic too, since it would mean that Daia herself could not wield it!

Daia's statline is 40HP, 4 armour, 3-4 attack, and 2 wisdom. If you remove 4 armour and increase attack to 7-9 then you have minused 8 points from her and added 9 points. If the attack were changed to 6-9 then there wouldn't be any positive or negative side to the item points-wise, at least for Daia. Problems may arise if the bow is given to another character, but given that there will be very few even capable of using it I can't see it being a problem in practice.

Her attack is 3-4? Then nevermind me!

I like that it is 6-9 though. That will still be a considerable amount of Dmg done, seing as the Min attack is so high.

Either way, shall we try with simply adjusting attack of the item to 6-9 then?

Reminds me of Fallout NV Antimaterial Rifle. The thing is so huge it requires 9 strength. If you dont have that, aiming makes it wobble and wave like you aim from a ship amid storm. Forget about hitting something.
